The short answer, is no, according to pembroke-ma.gov. There is no current water ban in effect for Pembroke MA. However, here are some important things you should know about water regulation in Pembroke:

  1. No lawn irrigation systems may be connected to the town's water distribution system in any manner. Therefore, all irrigation systems must be supplied by private wells at the expense of the property owner.

  2. The Pembroke Water Department has the authority to declare a state of water emergency by implementing a mandatory water ban during any emergency condition in accordance with current municipal town bylaw

  3. There is often a water ban during the summer months and into the fall

  4. No unprotected cross connection is permitted to a public water supply or any other source of water per DEP regulations. All cross connections must be approved by the Department and tested in accordance with manufacturers specifications. The building owner shall provide the Department with rights of access to test these devices and pay said fee.
